Job overview
We are seeking a motivated and self-starting Apprentice to support the Owner in delivering high-quality renovation services. This role focuses on assisting the owner and lead technician on the job site while learning the best practices of the home renovation field. The Apprentice is not just a supporting role; it is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to learn a set of skills that leads to unlimited earning potential. This is the first step in a career path designed to grow into a supervisory position and beyond.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting experienced workers — work alongside the owner and lead field technician to learn from their expertise, collaborating with the team to achieve project goals.
- Performing basic tasks — clearing debris, preparing materials, setting up equipment, and loading/unloading materials.
- Learning and practicing skills — operate hand and power tools and perform renovation tasks under supervision.
- Following safety procedures — wear appropriate PPE at all times, request replacement equipment immediately, and look out for fellow workers. Safety is a shared responsibility, as demonstrated through OSHA.
- Participating in training — classes, workshops, and virtual sessions; may include tests, assignments, and projects on industry standards and best practices.
- Maintaining tools and equipment — keep tools, equipment, and work areas in good working order.
- Reporting issues — report any safety hazards or issues to your supervisor.
- Professional appearance and customer service — first impressions last; represent the company with professionalism in demeanor, attire, language, and communication.
- Initiative and motivation to learn — learn to earn! Ask questions, seek clarification, and take ownership of your work.
